So this is it, the final post for the nine-week trip around Central/Eastern Europe and Portugal. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the posts as much as I have enjoyed writing them, and thank you for following along on this adventure!
I’m signing off for now, though perhaps I’ll come back to this blog one day to add to it for some currently-unplanned future trip.
Hopefully I’ll see each and every one of you again in person very soon!! In the meantime, enjoy your next major meander!
A motley crew of younger, faster runners from various countries outside of Czechia. And then there’s me. We ran 10km all whilst talking, for which I was sorely unprepared, especially after a late night socializing at a pub. After about 7km I had to slow down and stop talking, and everyone else was at the end patiently waiting for the slow newbie (me) to finally show up before heading to a coffee shop. BTW, most people drank no water during or after the run, with the majority preferring coffee instead!Luxury baby stroller store by Sofia’s apartmentSofia calmly falling down a well in an Irish pubAn evening river cruise we took – only four other passengers on board! The motors were electric, so it was completely quiet. This one-hour cruise was one of the most enjoyable experiences of the entire trip – magical! I’d definitely do that again. Today’s dad joke: Why should Prague not worry about getting punished for any possible recent misdeeds?
Because it’s now getting away Scott free!
Today’s limerick:
I took a nine-week European trip, With flavors savored with each bite and sip. Moments and sights galore, No city was a bore. Other than Lisbon, no place would I skip.
Today’s travel quote:
A walk around a foreign city is often a surefire method for experiencing mindfulness and awe, with full attention to details, and with repetitive mental chatter temporarily extinguished.
