Unique Food Options

Most days, and sometimes multiple times per day, I’ve had airborne sticky silken threads blow onto my face while in Bratislava specifically. I don’t know if they are leftover spider webs silk worm threads, or something else, but you can see them flying by in the air. Anyone know what that’s about?

In walking around Bratislava, I’ve noticed that Slovakian national entities have names in Slovakian that look like they indicate a relationship to another country, Slovenia (which is between Austria and Croatia). It turns out that the names for Slovakia and Slovenia are almost the same in the Slovak language. The name for Slovakia is “Slovensko”, while the name for Slovenia is “Slovinsko”, just one letter different! Confusing.

Both countries are named in relation to their Slavic peoples. Speaking of Slavic, I’ve found many sources that indicate that the term “slave” originated from “Slav”, given that Spanish Muslims took many Eastern Europeans as slaves, but there are counterarguments such as that the Slavs themselves often took slaves.

I’ve found some unique food items in Bratislava, such as an edible soup cup and a dairy products vending machine!

The cups themselves are different flavors. I got spirulina, and it was surprisingly good.
Cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products! I’m still pondering my unique vending machine business idea…

Today’s limerick:

Cafes abound in Bratislava
Where they refer to coffee as káva
It's hard to know which to choose
But you've got nothing to lose
Just pick one and enjoy your java.

Today’s dad joke: Colleen really liked the recent paper infallibility joke, and accordingly suggested a different punchline, which is even better! So, why does the online payment system seem to be incapable of making an error?

Because it’s got PayPal infallibility!

Today’s travel quote:

I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.

  1. What flavor is the tip cup? I really like this “Drink the soup, eat the cup” idea. A natural extension of the chowder bread bowl.

      1. Neat tidbits; that dairy vending machine is wild! You ever figure out what the spider web strand things were?
